Antigua y noble familia de Lazio, de virtud clara y ancestral, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. El origen de este conocimiento, por decir lo menos de los genealogistas ilustres, debe buscarse en un apodo vinculado a la profesión de "que hizo pancere, cuirasses", probablemente realizado por un progenitor, hoy desconocido.
