Familia antigua e ilustre. Un Nicolò, nacido en Calais, siguió a Margherita de Foix, la novia destinada al marqués de Saluzzo, y fue nombrada capitana en el castillo de Revello alrededor de 1490. Su hijo Magno, capitán de milicias, tenía, entre otros, a Nicolò, que era alcalde de Revello, y cuyo hijo, el propio Magno, entregó en 1614 el arma noble con los agnati. El notario, Domenico, hijo del obispo Marco Antonio, entregó el arma el 14 de febrero de 1687. Fue asesinado por los franceses el 13 de noviembre de 1693 en el saqueo de Revello. Domenico nació de él (nacido en 1681, fallecido en 1743), quien procreó a Domenico Enrico (nacido en 1714, falleció el 29 de enero de 1792), quien fue reclutado por Costigliole el 3 de mayo de 1780 e invirtió el 11 de marzo con el título de comital para él y para el hermano
