Nobile et antica in Roma è la famiglia de' Papazurri. Il Monaldeschi, nel Diario nella incoronazione del Petrarca in Campidoglio: del 1328 furono recitate composizioni da 12 giovanetti Nobili Romani (come fin hora habbiamo ripetuto più volte) tra quali furono de' Papazurri, il qual nome è il proprio della famiglia, chiamata per soprannome di Zannetta e per agnome de' Muti, per un muto di quella casa, però la nobiltà della famiglia vi era supposta molto tempo prima. L'Infessura, raccontando che il Vipereschi riprese per il Papa il Governo di Roma, dice che superò in battaglia 20 marzo 1436 Antonio di Paolo Zannetta con molti Romani, la cui casa poscia fece spianare. Il Petrone nel Diario, nelle premesse che fa delle famiglie delle quali deve parlare, così dice: "M. Jacomo delli Papaciurri dello Rione di Trevi, parrocchia di S. Marcello, nacque nelli MCCCXXXIII; in tempo è statp lo Vescovo di Chieti,
