Nobilissima famiglia abruzzese, con residenza nella città di L'Aquila, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di illustri genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata in un soprannome, originatosi sopra il termine greco "parago" (= guidatore) ed il nome medioevale italiano "Grano", a sua volta derivato dal nome normanno "Warren", dato, probabilmente, ad un, oggi ignoto, capostipite. Tal casato, in oltre, nel discorrer dei lustri, sempre, riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, ricordiamo: Giacomo, Auditor Generale della Provincia d'Abruzzo, nel 1527; Lodovico, dottore in Sacra Teologia, vivente in L'Aquila, nel 1563; Saverio, notaio, vivente in Chieti, nel 1574; Luciano, dottore in "utroque jure", vivente nel 1587; P. Francesco, vivente nel 1592, membro della Compagnia di Gesù; Francesco Maria, dotto giureconsulto, vivente in L'Aquila, nel 1623; Pietro Paolo, medico del Collegio della sua Patria, vivente in Abruzzo Citra, nel
