Família italiana muito nobre e ilustre, de origem francesa, cujo progenitor, segundo Villabianca, deve ser identificado naquele Gualtiero, governador de Paris antes do ano 1000. Após Roberto il Guiscardo, em 998, a família chegou ao sul da Itália , estabelecendo-se, primeiro, em Cosenza e Reggio Calabria. Em meados do século XV, com Nicolantonio, filho de Ruggero I, Barão de Castelluccia e da Pedra de Monte Corvino, a família herdou a propriedade em Moliterno e se estabeleceu lá na primeira metade do século XVI, após o compromisso firmado em Nápoles em 1531 , entre Angiolo I Parisi (filho de Nicolantonio) e seu primo Francesco (filho de Ruggero II), sobrinhos do Barão Ruggero I, que dividiram os ativos de Moliterno dos de Cosenza, respectivamente atribuídos a Angiolo I e Francesco. O referido Angiolo, no entanto, mudou-se para Palermo, sempre em 1531, onde, mantendo-se com muitas riquezas, tornou-se o progenitor de ilustres cavalheiros.
