Antica famiglia patrizia cosentina, passata al S. M. O. di Malta in Priorato nel 1584 per reazione del cavaliere Pitrantonio, nel 1636 del cavaliere Ireneo e nel 1716 del Balio fra Francesco Saverio, avendone fatta la prova da Ruggero de Parisi, primo stipite, dal 1533. Nel 1801 fu scritta all'elenco del Priorato di Capua. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano del 1922 col titolo di patrizio di Cosenza in persona dei discendenti da Francesco, ascritto nel 1801 all'Elenco del Priorato di Capua. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia patrizia di Cosenza e di Benevento, che ha goduto nobiltà in Messina, in Cosenza, in Reggio Calabria ed in Malta. Ascritta al patriziato di Benevento. Ricevuta nel S. M. O. di Malta dal 1584. Dette alla Chiesa un cardinale. Signore di Valvano e decorata nel 1638 del titolo di marchese di Panicocoli. Altro ramo. Le prime memorie certe di questa nobile famiglia
