A very influential and predominant family in the history of Tortona in the XII, XIII and XIV centuries, it participates in public life and appears for the first time in the ancient chronicles of 1122 when, after a few decades of municipal autonomy, Tortona wanted to definitively escape the imperial authority by following the example of other cities including Milan to which it was not long before allying itself, knowing that it was also an enemy of Pavia.
