Una casa de este apellido patronímico radicó en el lugar de Azparrena, y otra en el de Azqueta, ambos del Ayuntamiento de Arce y partido de Aoiz, en Navarra. Varios autores dice que algunos P. navarros procedía de un solar del mismo apellido, sito en la villa de Cornago (Rioja). De la primera de las mencionadas casas fué Miguel P., esposo de doña María de Ardanaz, a la que hizo madre de Martín P. de Ardanaz, bautizado en Azparren el 10 de Octubre de 1569 y casado con doña María de Iriarte, de la que tuvo a Martín P. de Iriarte, bautizado en Azparren el 2 de Abril de 1608, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Margarita Lacave, y fueron padres de Juan, bautizado en Azparren el 2 de Mayo de 1640 y casado con doña Francisca de Iriarte; de Ramón, bautizado en Itoiz el 29 de Marzo de 1648; de
