Es la opinión de algunos que esta antigua y noble familia de 'Pasi, anteriormente llamada de Paci, que era del Consejo y tenía el título senatorial, tiene este nombre por haber sido la propia de los súbditos de esta Cámara, de para ser mediadores de la paz en Bolonia en los tiempos de las facciones civiles, fundaron en la antigüedad el convento de los Frailes Menores de S. Francesco de la guardia de Casalecchio, y hacen una banda de oro en un campo rojo como arma. Petrizzolo, era de los ancianos. Ridolfo y Lambertino murieron por la facción Geremea.
