E' parere d'alcuni che questa antica, e nobile famiglia de' Pasi, detta anticamente de Paci, che è stata del Consiglio, ed ha avuto il grado senatorio, abbia questa denominazione per esser stato il proprio dei soggetti di questa Casa, d'esser mediatori di pace in Bologna ne' tempi delle fazioni Civili, questi fondarono anticamente il convento dei Frati Minori di S. Francesco della guardia di Casalecchio, e fanno per arma una fascia d'oro in campo rosso. Petrizzolo, fù degl'Anziani. Ridolfo, e Lambertino, furono morti per la fazione Geremea. Pace di Ridolfo, Dott. di Legge, prestò i suoi Cavalieri al Pubblico, si trova sottoscritto nelle Capitolazioni, della città fatta col Papa e Ambasciatore per la città nel 1280, diede ostaggi al Card. Legato nel 1285 fù de' Savi della Città, come molte altre volte, nel 1287 Ambasciatore de' bolognesi intervenne ad una Lega nel 1289, eletto sopra l'armi nel 1290 degl'Anziani,
