Famiglia assai antica e nobile di probabile origine Franca. Altri ritengono che Pasquini sia una cognominizzazione del sostantivo medievale "pasquinus". La famiglia, da oltre quattro secoli, ha goduto di nobiltà nelle Marche e segnatamente in Jesi, in Senigallia e in S. Angelo in Vado, propagandosi poi in diverse regioni italiane. I nomi dei Pasquini, infatti, sono ricordati in molti testi,atti notarili e contratti di acquisto immobiliari e terrieri, redatti in diverse zone d'Italia. Una delle residenze della famiglia fu il Castello Pasquini, sito in Castiglioncello ed oggi centro di una serie di manifestazioni ed eventi culturali, come il Premio Letterario Castiglioncello-Costa degli Etruschi. All'interno di codesta casata si trovano molti personaggi illustri e degni di annovero.
