E' tradizione che questa famiglia provenga dai nobili di Firenze. Già però nel secolo XV se ne hano memorie in Valtournanche, dove erano denominati Andriveti. Pietro Andriveti, che abitava a Valtournanche, ebbe per figli Giacomo, che fu canonico di Aosta, Giovanni, che fu notaio, e Nicodo, che fu dottore di leggi e avvocato fiscale. Giovanni procreò Andrea. Primogenito di Andrea fu Grato, che esercitò il notariato e che sposò Giovanna Gorset, da cui nacquero Giovanni e Giovanni Pietro. Il primo, che fu pure notaio, ebbe tre figli maschi che non lasciarono discendenza. Il secondo seguì Emanuele Filiberto in Fiandra e fu nobilitato il 28 ottobre 1556. Ebbe costui numerosa prole e fra gli altri Gio. Andrea, Giampietro, stipite della linea attuale, Gian Giacomo, Gabriele e Grato, che tutti lasciarono discendenza formando linea. Gio.
