Antica ed assai nobile famiglia piemontese, originaria di Moncalieri ma trapiantatasi in Torino, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Il primo di cui si abbia notizia è il Beato Filippo, minore conventuale, che fu professore di Teologia in Padova, nel 1340. Un Bartolomeo fu sindaco di Moncalieri nel 1625 ed un Gian Michele tenne la stessa carica nel 1662. Un Michele Gaetano, già cittadino torinese, fondò una Cappella nella Chiesa della Misericordia di Torino (testamento, 1727, 22 gennaio). Gianfrancesco Felice (Moncalieri, 15 ottobre 1735; Torino, 2 dicembre 1817), figlio di Maurizio, fu dottore in medicina, senatore del Senato di Torino, avvocato generale, e presidente di classe nello stesso Senato, fu infeudatato, da Vittorio Amedeo III re di Sardegna, della Contea di Stazzano, il 22 ottobre 1784.
