Famiglia assai distinta e fregiata del titolo comitale. Lodovico Pavia nel 1352 fu generoso benefattore del convento de' frati minori di S. Francesco di Torino. Giambattista di Stefano fu prefetto della città e provincia di Pinerolo, e poscia membro del Consiglio superiore di giustizia creato dal Re Luigi XIII con patente 18 gennaio 1636; Ubertino il 18 luglio 1630 faceva oblazione alla città di Pinerolo di mille doppie d'oro, affinchè potesse essa sopperire ai bisogni del Comune, specialmente per soccorrere i poveri colpiti dal contagio; un altro Giambattista fu investito del feudo comitale di Scandaluzza da Carlo II Duca di Mantova con patente 9 aprile 1664. Egli era consigliere di stato, consigliere privato del Re di Francia, e decano del Consiglio sovrano di Pinerolo. Il conte Carlo fu membro del Consiglio superiore di Pinerolo nel 1702, poi intendente generale del contado di Nizza e del principato di Oneglia nel 1717,
