Die spanische Familie soll von Infante D. Pedro abstammen, dem Sohn von D. Afonso XI, dem Weisen, König von Castel und León. D. Pedro heiratete im Jahr 1281. D. Margarida, Tochter des Herrn von Narbona, nach dem D. Sancho da P. benannt wurde, der seinen Namen erhielt, nachdem er mit seinem Vater in den Krieg gegen die maurischen Könige von Granada gezogen war , Fes und Marokko, die so tapfer kämpften und so große Siege errangen, dass sie wesentlich dazu beitrugen, dass die Spanier den Frieden fanden, den sie brauchten. Es gab D. Sancho da P., die Herrschaft von Ledesma und viele Generationen, die sich über ganz Kastilien und León ausbreiteten und sich besonders in Salamanca und Ciudad Rodrigo niederließen. Diejenigen mit diesem Nachnamen müssen mehr als einmal in unser Land gegangen sein, aber es ist bekannt, dass Luís Álvares de P, Kommandeur von Paradimas, im Malteserorden D Franca Maldonado
