Di questo cognome tre famiglie si resero assai chiare in Milano; la prima è estinta le altre due fioriscono tuttora. I Pecchio conti di Monte discendono da Lodrisio che fiorì in principio del 1400, e diedero decurioni, fisici e dottori di Collegio, canonici della Scala, avvocati fiscali, questori e cavalieri gerosolimitani. Ebbero il feudo di Monte con titolo comitale nel 1627. Pecchio. Diedero consiglieri ducali, vicari di provvisione, decurioni, senatori, dottori di Collegio, cavalieri gerosolimitani ecc. Pecchio Giringhelli Rota. Assunsero per eredità il secondo e terzo cognome. Vantano decurioni, cavalieri Gerosolimitani, dottori di Collegio e cavalieri di S.Stefano; ordine fondato da Cosimo I de' Medici il 15 marzo del 1562, ad imitazione di quello Gerosolimitano, col duplice scopo di difendere nel Mar Tirreno il commercio d'Italia dalle piraterie barbaresche, e di liberare i Cristiani dalla schiavitù della potenza ottomana.
