Der alte Adel dieser Familie wurde durch Dekret des IR-Regierungsrates von Mailand vom 26. März 1788 zugunsten der Brüder Don Camillo Gerolamo und Canon Don Francesco Maria, Söhne von Don Antonio Maria und D. Costanza Salari, anerkannt. Es wurde dann mit der souveränen Resolution vom 28. Januar 1817 zugunsten des gleichen Pater Camillo, Girolamo und Pater Francesco Maria sowie zugunsten von Pater Michele und Pater Carlo, ebenfalls Kinder des oben genannten Pater Antonio und Pater Costanza Salari, bestätigt. Mit einem weiteren souveränen Beschluss vom 15. August desselben Jahres wurde dies auch zugunsten von Pietro, einem weiteren Sohn von Antonio, bestätigt. Aus den dem Regierungsrat vorgelegten Beweisen geht hervor, dass die vier oben genannten Brüder von einem Giovanni Francesco Griringhelli abstammen, der in öffentlichen Urkunden von 1526 und 1534 als "großartig und edel" eingestuft wurde.
