Famiglia oriunda di Casalpusterlengo. Già fin dal 1791 don Carlo Antonio, di don Carlo Francesco, I. R. Consigliere di appello, aveva ottenuto con decreto 17 marzo detto anno del Consiglio di Governo, che il suo stemma fosse registrato "nel codice destinato alle persone rivestito di carica nobile". Lo stesso don Carlo Antonio, che durante il primo Regno Italico fu consigliere di Stato e primo presidente della Corte di Cassazione, ottenne da Napoleone il titolo di conte (decreto dato a Schoenbrun il 1 ottobre). Al tempo della Restaurazione, con Sovrana Risoluzione 21 novembre 1816, l'Austria non ebbe alcuna difficoltà a riconoscergli l'antica nobiltà, così come ne godeva prima del 1796, in quanto che aveva ricoperto la carica di I. R. Consigliere di Appello, equiparata alle cariche nobili del Senato; ma quanto al titolo di conte, non gli fu concesso di trasmetterlo ai discendenti, perchè non era stato costituito il maggiorasco
