In der Antike Peleoni genannt. 1617 erhielten die Brüder Francesco und Stefano das Privileg der edlen Waffe. Kapitän Gianfrancesco zog nach Piemont, und 1690 besaß sein Sohn Claudio Maurizio bereits einen Teil von Parpaglia. Tommaso Filippo, Sohn von Claudio, Kommandeur von Vercelli und Generalleutnant der Kavallerie, kaufte 1731 das Drittel von Semian und die Hälfte von Perano, und 1771 wurde der Anwalt Carlo, der die andere Hälfte des Lehens gekauft hatte, in errichtet Bezirk. Das Vorhandensein des Mottos in der dokumentierten Bibliographie der Familie bestätigt den angestammten Adel der Familie. Tatsächlich geht der Ursprung des Mottos auf das 14. Jahrhundert zurück und muss in jenen witzigen Sprüchen gesucht werden, die auf den Bannern oder Flaggen der Ritter geschrieben waren, die an den Fenstern der Gasthäuser, in denen sie wohnten, während der Turniere und während der Turniere selbst angebracht waren .
