Famiglia oriunda di Castellar, passata poi in Vinovo e in Vercelli. Ad un Francesco, di Giorgio, che fu avvocato, fu riconosciuta dai fratelli il 2 luglio 1617 l'arma gentilizia per "conformare la loro arma a quella che usano le altre caste dei Peleoni d'Italia et altri parti". Non è noto l'attacco genealogico di questo Francesco coi conti di Persano, i quali riconoscono per stipite un capitano Francesco da Vinovo. Un figlio di costui, Claudio, ebbe il titolo dei signori di Parpaglia. Da lui nacque Tommaso Filippo, che fu maggior generale e comandante di Vercelli. Acquistò dai fratelli Sannazzaro un terzo di Semiana e una metà di Persano, e di questi feudi fu investito col titolo signorile il 14 aprile 1755. Suo figlio Carlo (defunto Vercelli, 15 agosto di 1779), avendo acquistata l'altra metà di Persano, ottenne l'erezione del feudo contea il 14 dicembre 1771. Appartenne a questa famiglia Carlo (nato
