Die Oriunda-Familie von Castellar, früher Peleoni genannt, ging dann nach Vinovo und Vercelli über und verbreitete sich über die Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Italiens. Am 2. Juli 1617 erhielten die Brüder Francesco und Stefano das Privileg der edlen Waffe. Kapitän Gianfrancesco zog nach Piemont, und 1690 besaß sein Sohn Claudio-Maurizio bereits einen Teil von Parpaglia. Tommaso-Filippo, Sohn von Claudio, Kommandeur von Vercelli und Generalleutnant der Kavallerie, kaufte 1731 das Drittel von Semiana und die Hälfte von Persano, und 1771 wurde der Anwalt Carlo, der die andere Hälfte des Lehens gekauft hatte, errichtet in der Grafschaft. Es gehörte zu dieser Familie Carlo (geb. Vercelli, 11. März 1806, verstorben Turin, 28. August 1883) von Luigi, der Minister der Marine, Admiral, Senator des Königreichs war und 1866 die Flotte in der katastrophalen Schlacht von Lissa befehligte.
