The Oriunda family of Castellar, formerly called Peleoni, then passed to Vinovo and Vercelli and spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. On July 2, 1617, the brothers Francesco and Stefano obtained the privilege of the noble weapon. Captain Gianfrancesco moved to Piedmont, and, in 1690, his son Claudio-Maurizio already owned part of Parpaglia. Tommaso-Filippo, son of Claudio, commander of Vercelli and lieutenant general of cavalry, bought in 1731 the third of Semiana and half of Persano, and in 1771 the lawyer Carlo, having purchased the other half of the fiefdom, this was erected in county. It belonged to this family Carlo (born Vercelli, 11 March 1806, deceased Turin 28 August 1883), of Luigi, who was minister of the Navy, admiral, senator of the Kingdom and who commanded the fleet in the disastrous battle of Lissa in 1866.
