Fra le chiarissime famiglie Aragonesi, e Valentiane, è celebrata da Dieco di Sangil, e Girolamo de Blancas scrittori Spagnuoli la famiglia P. detta corrotamente nel nostro Idioma Siciliano Impellizzeri. Il primo, che di lei indi venne in Sicilia, fù Antonio I. cavalier Valentiano, insieme con Ferreri di Ferreri suo cognato, per la moglie Serena Ferreri, con la quale egli haveva procreato Paolo, Francesco, Pietro, e Giacomo, che tutti militarono a' serviggi del Rè Martino nel 1392. Paolo, essendo assai intendente nella ragion di Stato, fù mandato Ambasciatore dal Rè Alfonzo appresso la Republica di Genova per trattato della pace fra esso Rè, e quella Republica, dove casò Antonio suo figlio con Miuccia de' Giudici nobile Genovesa, che poscia fù progenitor della famiglia P. di Genova, e' suoi figli furono Pietro, e Giovanni, che nel 1486 passarono in Sicilia col carico di Governatore di Modica.
