Antica ed illustre famiglia, oriunda della Sicilia. Un Francesco ed un Antonio, padre e figlio, furono procuratori nell'ufficio del conservatore del R. Patrimonio nel secolo XVII; un Salvatore fu maestro notaio della corte giuratoria di Acireale nel 1743-44, egli stesso acquistò il feudo Floristella del quale fu investito il 26 febbraio 1782 e morì in Acireale il 10 settembre 1787; Angelo Maria, dottore il leggi, figli del precedente, ebbe investitura di Floristella il 15 febbraio 1788; un Agostino e Maugeri fu acatapano nobile di Acireale e nel novembre 1803 ottenne infeudazione del territorio di S. Margherita o Fogliarini, del quale ottenne investitura il 20 marzo 1804 e che trasmise al nipote Angelo Maria, il quale ne fu investito il 14 agosto 1808. Con D. M. il 12 ottobre 1899 venne riconosciuto nel titolo di barone di Floristella Salvatore, di Agostino, di Salvatore, nato in Acireale il 28 aprile 1863. Angelo
