Alte und edle Familie aus der Bretagne mit klarer und überlieferter Tugend, die sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte weltweit mit mehreren Niederlassungen in Deutschland und Dänemark verbreitet hat. Darüber hinaus stach diese Familie in allen Altersgruppen immer hervor, dank der prominenten Persönlichkeiten, die im öffentlichen Dienst, in den liberalen und kirchlichen Berufen und im Militärdienst geboren wurden. Unter diesen, ohne das Ausgelassene zu unterschätzen, möchten wir erwähnen: Riall, Ritter, blüht 1210; Alain Bourigan, der Alix de la Lande, die Ehrendame von Marie de Bretagne, heiratete; Jean, Herr von Orvault; Alain, Herr von Boisorcant. Die Familie kann sich auch rühmen: vier Ritter des Ordens von 1570 bis 1611; ein Kapitän von 50 Soldaten im Jahre 1598; ein Herr der Kammer im Jahre 1605; eine Seite des Königs im Jahre 1718. Die in Dänemark gegründete Niederlassung änderte ihren Nachnamen in Peperlow. Die Familie wurde am 11. Mai 1686 zum Adligen Dänemarks erklärt
