Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, lieutenant de Jean de Parthenay, capitaine du château de Landal, tué à la bataille de Saint-Aubin du Cornier en 1488, père de Jean, marié à Marie Vincent, auteur de la branche de Bellisle, qui a produit: un page du Roi en 1761, une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1764; un chef d'escadre en 1767 et un lieutenant des maréchaux de France à Ancenis en 1785; de Guillaume, marié à Guillemette Gaillard, auteur de la branche de Martigné, qui a produit un contrôleur à la chancellerie en 1632. Les seigneur du Gué et de Ponpiel, ressort de Dinan, déboutés à la réformation de 1668. Autre branche: Jean, seigneur de la Grimaudaye, notaire de la cour de Rennes, en 1513, épouse Michelle le Valois; plusieurs conseillers au parlement et présidents aux enquêtes depuis 1591; un abbé de Saint-Aubin des Bois, mort en 1626; un chevalier de l'ordre en 1641.
