Ghilini zufolge stammte die Linie der Perbono oder Perboni, früher Petrobono (Petrus Bonus), von der von Ponzone, der von einem der sieben Söhne des sächsischen Marquis Aleramo-Herzogs stammte, und von Adelasia, der Tochter des Kaisers Otto I. lebte in den Jahren um 974. Der Kaiser gab jedem seiner Enkelkinder einen Marquisat: Unter ihnen hatte der erste, Guglielmo, das Monferrato und der sechste hatte Ponzone: Die Familie Perboni würde vom Marquis von Ponzone abstammen. Guasco zitiert ein Dokument vom 23. August 1151, in dem ein "Petrusbonus" -Eigentümer in Marengo ernannt wird. Die Perboni gehörten tatsächlich zu den größten Landbesitzern in Frascheta. Aus den Cartari der Abtei von Rivalta Scrivia erfahren wir, dass sie im Bezirk "Petrusbonus" Grundstücke und Häuser sowohl in der Novese als auch in Tortona besaßen. Am 28.
