This illustrious family, originally from Spain, transplanted to Taranto, during the Spanish domination, and the first that appeared were: Martino, Ernando and Giovanni, from which three branches were derived. A third Giovanni belongs to the third branch, a captain of great value, who in 1552 was the secretary of Charles V, and then, of his son Filippo, a Francesco, son of the previous one, captain of the Taranto militia, who in 1571 took part in the famous battle of Lepanto, and in 1594 he fought against the Calabrian renegade Bassà Assan Cicala, in which fact he obtained the rank of sergeant major. The last of this noble family was Giovanni, who passed away in the first half of the XVIII century. Other branch. Of Spanish origin it is found established in Verona between 1653 and 1682. An Angelo Francesco, of the late Cesare, towards the end of the seventeenth century
