En el obispado de Cahors, en Francia, está el pueblo se Perillac, donde se estableció un descendiente de Torson, conde de Tolosa, llamado Bertran; y de este procedió Remon de Bertran, que por un reñido combate que sostuvo en un puente que está sobre el rio Ordoña, cerca del espresado pueblo de Perillac, tomó este nombre por apellido, y fué tronco de la muy ilustre familia de Perillac. Floreció Remon Bertran de Perillac en la primera mitad del siglo XIV, y vino a España, donde se distinguió y fué muy conocido por su esfuerzo y valentía en las guerras de aquellos tiempos con el nombre de Don Remon Bertran de Perillo o P. Sus descendientes obtuvieron importantes cargos y elevadas dignidades; fueron barones de Millas y Seret, en el Rosellon; de Geta y Gravadell, en el reino de Valencia y vizcondes de Roda, en Cataluña; y emparentaron con la ilustre y conocida casa de Rocabertí y otras no menos ilustre y calificadas de España.
