Ancienne et très noble famille napolitaine, qui, d'après ce qui nous est transmis, serait d'origine française et, précisément, viendrait du Languedoc-Provence, terre des célèbres Troubadours médiévaux. La famille, qui est divisée en plusieurs branches, a possédé des fiefs à la fois en Calabre Hither et Ulterior; il a également vécu noblement en Sicile et à Naples. Une fois en Italie, il était donc reconnu par la Maison Royale d'Anjou, la Maison Royale d'Aragon et la Maison de Habsbourg. Inscrite dans les Sièges Nobles de Piazza Chiusa et dans les Sièges Nobles de la Ville de la Vraie Séparation en tant que Noble de Premier Degré, traitement de "Don" et "Excellence", elle a possédé les titres suivants_ Noble de Rossano, Noble d'Amantea, Patricien de Crotone , Patrizio Napolitano, Baron de Cutumino, Baron de Zagarise, Baron de Sersale, Baron de Santa Caterina (Ionio), Baron della Sellia, Comte Palatin du Saint Empire Romain
