Antica ed assai nobile famiglia, originaria di Ripa Canina, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del Mondo. Tal famiglia venne ascritta, nel 1624, alla nobiltà di Benevento, nella persona del marchese Giovanni-Antonio. Il ramo originario si estinse verso la metà del XIX secolo con Nicola, il quale avendo tolto in moglie Gaetana Parisio, e non avendo prole, adottava nel 1838 per suo figlio legittimo e naturale Salvatore Parisio che fu l'erede del nome, dei titoli e delle sostanze della famiglia. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia messinese, nota sin dal XIII secolo, detta Perrotta o Perrotti, la quale risulta fregiata del titolo di signore di Mezzacisterna del Milioto. Angelo fu giudice della corte straticoziale in Messina negli anni 1489/90; Salvatore fu investito del feudo di Mezzacisterna del Milioto il 20 maggio 1806; Giuseppe, capitano del "9° Reggimento Fanteria di Linea Puglia" ed il fratello Federico, capitano del "10°
