Antica e nobile famiglia di Camerino, che nel secolo XVI fu ammessa alla nobiltà di Recanati col cavaliere Perozzo. Dette chiari uomini alla patria,fra cui Anton Giacomo, di Ippolito, che nel 1693 fu podestà di Recanati, fu dottore in legge e morì a Benevento luogotenente di quel governatore. Ippolito, di Anton Giacomo, fu podestà di Fano nel 1719. La famiglia ebbe riconosciuta la sua nobiltà con Francesco nel 1750, che ottenne il cavalierrato di giustizia nell'I.M.O. di S. Stefano, e con Venanzio, che fu cavaliere di giustizia nel S.M.O. di Malta nel 1700 come risulta dall'Archivio del Gran Priorato di Roma. Gaudenzio e Gio. Batta nel 1755 ottennero la Nobiltà di Filottrano e Domenico nel 1790 il Patriziato di Ancona. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Nobile Ufficiale Italiano con titoli di patrizio di Ancona (maschi e femmine), nobile di Filottrano (maschi e femmine), ed è rappresentata da Vittorio, di Clemente.
