Muy antiguo e ilustre, originario de Rávena, y trasplantado a Friuli, donde tomó el nombre de un castillo al que el Patriarca de Aquileja le dio un feudo. Se dice que es la misma sangre que la de Varmo. En Friuli, además del castillo del mismo nombre, poseía los de Varmo, arriba, Varmo abajo y Susans.
