Originaria di Pertus in Val di Lanzo, o da Pertusio nel Canavese, la si trova trasferita in Rivoli fin dal 119. Un Ulberto possedeva beni in Val della Torre coerenti al monastero di Val Benedetta e vivea in Rivoli nel 1227. Ulrico, di lui figlio, si trova stabilito in Avigliana nel 1222, presente alle donazioni fatte dai Conti di Savoja a quell'abbazia, alla quale egli stesso nel 1227 vendè alcuni beni in Rivoli. Manfredo, fratello del precedente, fu castellano di Avigliana dal 1202 al 1220. Antelmeto, discendente dai suddetti, fu investito del 1344 della signoria di Villarbasse. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie nel 1550 nella persona di Giovan-Durando. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli
