Quanto riferito dal Gabotto sui Pesapane, vale anche per i P. menzionati in un'antica pergamena tra le famiglie nobili ivi viventi nell'anno 1140 di cui c'informa il Montemerlo ed il Bottazzi. I consoli della città, tra cui Opizzo Pesato, il 9 ottobre 1157 vendono al monastero di Rivalta quanto Pietro Sicco possedeva in detto territorio; altro console è Bernardo che appare in documento del 12 aprile 1181 con cui podestà e corpo consolare concedono ai signori di Grondona, postisi sotto la loro soggezione, il monte Asserello, detto poi Grondona nuova, ed è teste in atto del 29 maggio 1192 con cui i consoli di Novi sottomettono il loro Comune alla giurisdizione tortonese. Genovesi e tortonesi il 3 giungo 1197 stipulano un trattato di pace ed alleanza della durata di 29 anni: consoli e credendari di T., tra cui Bernardo, ne giurano l'osservanza; lo stesso l'11 maggio 1198 delibera su di
