Con deliberazione del 25 marzo 1602 Bartolomeo di Paolo fu dichiarato abile le arti maggiori agli uffizi comunitativi della città di Pescia. Il nipote ex figlio di detto Bartolomeo, Domenico di Antonfrancesco, fu il primo della famiglia a risiedere gonfaloniere, nel 1734, e un Simone, Anton Francesco e Vittorio, fratelli e figli del detto Domenico, furono iscritti nel Libro d'oro dei nobili di Pescia con decreto del 1° marzo 1773. Altro ramo. Furono del Consiglio nobile, ed avendo acquistato nel Friuli la contea d'Aviano, ne assunsero il titolo. Altro ramo. Fu ascritta all'ordine nobile di Udine nel 1751. Consta da una ducale del Doge Domenico Contarini del 2 ottobre 1666 che gli antenati si resero per più secoli benemeriti della Repubblica nel servigio militare, che Giovanni Paolo appartenne all'Ordine Gerosolimitano, e che Pietro-Maria fu dalla Repubblica decorato del grado di cavaliere di San Marco. Fu confermata nobile con sovrana risoluzione
