Ancient and noble family of Abruzzo, of which there is memory, at the time of King Charles I of Anjou, with a Roberto, of Pietro, feudal lord of part of Orza. He enjoyed nobility in Aquila, Chieti and Sulmona; and of the latter city was Lorenz, baron of Castiglione della Pescara. In the mid-eighteenth century he married the only daughter of the Marquis Nicola Fragianni, councilor of the R. Chamber of S. Chiara Gildippe, nobleman of Barletta, bought the title of marquise with seniority since 1654 and reached his surname, and was aggregated also to the Nobility of Barletta in 1754, and, shortly thereafter, to the Patriziato of Bari, Patriziato for which the family was ascribed to the royal of the Closed Squares of the Kingdom.
