Alta la presenza della famiglie tra le famiglie nobili o notabili dell'epoca nel meridione dell'italia, così come riporta il Candida Gonzaga , nelle sue Memorie delle famiglie nobili delle provincie meridionali d'italia, stampato in Napoli dal De' Angelis nel 1875 al volume 6, in 4°. Non hà dubbio alcuno che questa Famiglia, della quale se ne scorge al presente un ramo trapiantato nella Città di Napoli, non essere, e per la sua antichità, e per la chiarezza della sua origine, e per gli huomini illustri, che da essa sono stati in ogni tempo prodotti, una delle più nobili della Campania, in molti luoghi della quale divisa, in ciascuno d'essi il proprio suo splendore conservando, bellissime
