Catarina, a segunda irmã de Pio II, casara-se com um Guglielmi e, desse casamento, nasceu uma filha solteira, que casou-se com Bartomeo Pieri, um nobre sienense, adotado por Pio II na família Piccolomini. Este Bartolomeu era o senhor de Sticciano, e esse título, passado no discnedneti, srvì para deistinguelrli por outros homens pequenos. Enea, de Bartolomeo Pieri Piccolomini, tinha para o filho Silvio, e ele, por sua vez, tinha Enea, senhor de Sticciano, que residia em 1522 nos conselhos de Siena. Ele foi enviado embaixador para Henrique II da França e foi oferecido a dama de Siena por seus próprios concidadãos; ele recusou não querer tirar de sua terra natal a liberdade pela qual ele sempre lutou. Ele participou da conspiração direcionada para expulsar os espanhóis de Siena e serviu no exército de Siena na última defesa da República; outono Siena se retirou com o governo para Montalcino e morreu
