Albissola Marina, sulla riviera ligure di Ponente, è la culla della famiglia. Un Giovanni Battista, di Bartolomeo, di Giovanni Gregorio, ottenne il titolo di conte dal re di Sardegna il 25 maggio 1838 come ricompensa a meriti guerreschi. Morto egli senza prole e continuando invece la discendenza di suo fratello Costantino, fu rinnovato a favore dei discendenti di quest'ultimo il titolo di conte trasmissibile a maschi da maschi per ordine di primogenitura, con RR. LL. PP. del 24 febbraio 1899 e concesso lo stemma con RR. LL. PP. dell'11 luglio stesso anno. Bartolomeo, figlio di Costantino, nato ad Albissola Marina il 16 ottobre 1811, defunto a Savona il 15 maggio 1875, fu padre di Costantino Enrico, nato a Genova il 25 gennaio 1864, e di Emilio Igninio Pietro, nato pure a Genova il 23 febbraio 1866.
