Bourgeoisie de St-Didier-la-Séauve, établie au XIVème siècle à Tournon. Méraud capitaine de cette ville, anobli le 30 novembre 1700 par une charge de secrétaire du roi, marié à Anne de La Condamine, acquit de la maison de la Rivoire le marquisat de ce nom et la baronnie de Vocance (1660). On relève parmi ses descendants: un commissaire extraordinaire des guerres, receveur des finances à Marseille (1692-1729); un écuyer cavalcadour de Madame la Dauphine et gentilhomme ordinaire du roi; plusieurs officiers dans les armées royales, chevaliers de St-Louis. Convoquée en 1789, à l'assemblée de la sénéchaussée du Puy. Divisée en deux branches fondues dans les de Missy, les de Gain de Montagnac et les de Saintard.
