Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: François, secrétaire du Roi en 1674, épouse Thomasse Dondel; Jean, grand maître des eaux et forêts de Bretagne en 1696, épouse Jeanne de Rosmar; deux maîtres des comptes depuis 1687; un conseiller au parlement de Paris en 1714; un secrétaire du Roi près le parlement d'Aix, mort en 1738; un lieutenant-général des armées en 1748, commandant à Minorque, mort en 1759; un maréchal de camp en 1780; un enseigne aux gardes-françaises en 1788, baron de l'Empire en 1813, avec institution de majorat sur la terre de Kermadio, en faveur duquel la terre de Keruzadie a été constituée en majorat au titre de marquis, par lettres de 1817. La branche de la Forest fondue dans Kerret.
