On trouve le nom de cette maison diversement écrit Pinhac ou Pignac. Noblesse remontant sa filiation suivie à Guillaume Pinhac, seigneur des Fours, de Lhournay, compris dans la revue des ban et arrière-ban de la sénéchaussée du Puy le 29 février 1539, nommé receveur de la noblesse du Velay en 1540. Claude Pinhac, son arrière petit-fils, seigneur de Fours, de la Tour des Sauvages, etc. épousa le 21 juin 1647 Françoise de bonlieu, d'où trois fils maintenus dans leur noblesse les 9, 29 août et 15 octobre 1669: Florimond des Fours inscrit dans d'Hozier, Claude et Antoine . Dominique-François de la Borie, conseiller au présidial de la ville du Puy, fit également, en 1696, enregistrer ses armoiries dans d'Hozier. Branche établie au XVIIIème siècle en Vivarais, à laquelle appartenait: Messire Gilbert, écuyer, seigneur des Fours et de la Tour des Sauvges, fils à feu Claude-Joseph et à dame Marianne de Rostyaing, marié à Privas, le 5 octobre 1740, à Marie de Monteils, d'où un fils et trois filles.
