Famiglia assai antica e nobile, originaria di San Severino, trapiantata a Napoli da un Antonio egregio giurisperito che la fece salire a decoroso stato. Nel 1625 egli fu uno de' Mastri della Casa Santa, ufficio che pur sostenne uno de' suoi figli, Girolamo, illustre giureconsulto, il quale accumulò molte ricchezze, comperò il feudo di Miano ed ottenne di essere aggregato alla nobiltà di San Severino. Il Re lo promosse prima alla carica di Fiscale del suo patrimonio di Napoli, indi a quella di Presidente del Consiglio d'Italia in Spagna. Gennaro figlio del precedente ottenne dal Re il titolo di marchese sopra il casale di Miano e fu creato giudice perpetuo della Gran Corte della vicaria criminale. Altro ramo.
