É esta família ramo da dos Novais, pois Martim Fernandes de Novais contemporâneo dos reis D. Sancho II e de D. Afonso III, morador em Riba de Vizela e que esteve no cerco de Servilha no ano de 1248 com o úlitmo destes soberanos foi casado com D. Sancha Martins da linhagem dos de Riba de Vizela e fora do matrimónio teve D. Vasco Martins P,, e, legitimamente, D. Sancha Martins, mulher de Estêvão Anes de Freitas senhor da Quinta do Corvo, de quem houve geração. D. Vasco Martins teria sido alcunhado de pimentel parece que por ser muito colérico. Morou na freguesia de Santo Adrião de Vizela, junto so rio Vizela, na Quinta que se chamava Lourosa, e depois de se denominou Paço Velho, na qual fez casas nobres, que caíram em ruína, e uma capela. Fora casado a primeira vez com D. Maria Anes, filha de João Martins
