Es ist diese Zweigfamilie von dos Novais, als Martim Fernandes de Novais Zeitgenosse der Könige D. Sancho II und D. Afonso III, der in Riba de Vizela lebte und 1248 mit dem letzten dieser Herrscher in der Belagerung von Servilha war, verheiratet war mit D. Sancha Martins aus der Riba de Vizela-Linie und außerehelich hatte D. Vasco Martins P ,, und zu Recht D. Sancha Martins, Frau von Estêvão Anes de Freitas, Meister von Quinta do Corvo, von dem es eine Generation gab. D. Vasco Martins hätte Peperoni genannt, weil es sehr cholerisch erscheint. Er lebte in der Pfarrei Santo Adrião de Vizela neben dem Fluss Vizela in der Quinta, die Lourosa genannt wurde, und danach in Paço Velho, in der er Adelshäuser baute, die verfielen, und eine Kapelle. Er war zum ersten Mal mit D. Maria Anes, der Tochter von João Martins de Fornelos, und seiner Frau D. Urraca
