È questa famiglia di rami di dos Novais, poiché Martim Fernandes de Novais contemporaneo dei re D. Sancho II e D. Afonso III, che visse a Riba de Vizela e che era sotto l'assedio di Servilha nel 1248 con l'ultimo di questi sovrani era sposato con D. Sancha Martins del lignaggio Riba de Vizela e fuori dal matrimonio aveva D. Vasco Martins P ,, e, legittimamente, D. Sancha Martins, moglie di Estêvão Anes de Freitas, maestro di Quinta do Corvo, da cui vi era una generazione. D. Vasco Martins sarebbe stato soprannominato peperoni perché sembra molto collerico. Visse nella parrocchia di Santo Adrião de Vizela, vicino al fiume Vizela, nella Quinta che si chiamava Lourosa, e in seguito fu chiamato Paço Velho, in cui costruì case nobili, che andarono in rovina, e una cappella.
