Oriunda di Courgnè nel Canavese, poi in Ivrea, la famiglia vanta fra i suoi antenati Domenico, che nel 1616 consegnava ai delegati del duca di Savoia, Carlo Emanuele I, lo stemma della comunità di Cuorgnè; Lorenzo, insinuatore a Ivrea, e Domenico, credendario ad Ivrea. Domenico (dec. nel 1703), procreò Giuseppe Antonio e Pietro Giuseppe, che diedero luogo a due linee. Giuseppe Antonio (dec. nel 1745), succeduto al padre come insinuatore ducale e banchiere del ducato di Aosta, fu investito di Banchette, presso Ivrea, con titolo comitale il 3 dicembre 1722 e poi nuovamente dopo il famoso editto di riunione il 3 dicembre 1731. Gli succedette nel feudo di Banchette il figlio Giovanni Antonio, che ne fu investito il 29 aprile 1746. Vent'anni dopo, nel 1766, egli veniva a morte lasciando due figli: Giuseppe Antonio, terzo conte di Banchette, e Pietro Paolo, che per acquisto fatto mediante R. Assenso del feudo
