Patricio y familia fundadora de origen portugués, falleció en el napolitano donde contrajo parentesco con las familias napolitanas más ilustres, entre las cuales, con Mendoza, cuyo apellido agregó al suyo, tomó posesión de varios feudos y otorgó los títulos de príncipe y marqués.
