Familia antigua, originaria de Piozzo, que se dividió en las dos ramas de Fossano y Savigliano. La primera rama, que tiene como base a Giovan Vincenzo, que fue auditor adjunto de guerra, vicario de Cuneo, concejal y referéndum en Cherasco, se extinguió con Anna Margherita, hija del abogado Carlo Antonio. La segunda rama de Savigliano ascendió al fastigente de la nobleza con el abogado Giovan Vincenzo, quien recibió los puntos de Rosignano el 2 de agosto de 1757 e invirtió el 31 de agosto con el título del comital. De esto nació Cesare, que era abogado (premorte sobre su padre, 4 de junio de 1747). Carlo Felice nació de su boda con Margherita Richieri, que era abogada, y fue investido el 28 de febrero de 1769.
